Coming this Fall!

Create a Capsule Wardrobe of Visuals for Your Business

Need a sweet suite of images to get the word ouT about your program or workshop?

Craving branded graphics that you love and fit your business like a Favorite pair of Jeans?

In this workshop series, you’ll create signature style graphic pieces that you can mix and match over and over to create different and cohesive looks for your business needs and uses.

You’ll learn basic art & design skills and a few image making techniques so you can have fun and feel confident using the languages of imagery to speak to your clients.

Together, we’ll hone in on what your people need to know most about your products and services and leverage that to create unique brand art.

Think of it like building a personalized and stylish capsule wardrobe.

You’ll assemble a few foundations, a few accent pieces, a few wild cards - you’ll end up with several combinations, appropriate for different occasions, ready to pull from your digital design closet.

Over time you can add more elements and expand your image wardrobe. With this system I’ll be teaching, you’ll come away understanding what works and why and how to pull together stylish designs that express your business well.

You can look fresh and still be recognized. Honest. Cool. Unique. You.

Reasons to DIY Your Brand Imagery:

1. COST EFFECTIVe

You can save money by not having to hire a professional graphic designer or photographer for everything your business needs.

2. YOUR STYLE

By creating your own brand imagery, you can design it to reflect the personality of your brand and capture its essence. Who knows your style better than you?

3. FLEXIBILITY

You have complete control over the design and can make any changes you want.

4. SPEED

You don’t have to wait for someone else to send you your files! This saves time getting your posts posted.

5. IT’S FUN TO BE CREATIVE AND MAKE STUFF!

You learn things you never thought you would when working with art & design - like how images convey meaning, how to think critically about what your image communicates…how to shift shitty cultural messages with your images!

Reasons Not to DIY (aka This is why I’m here to guide you - so we can outcon the cons)

1. Lack of expertise

you might be worried that you don't have graphic design skills and things are going to look bad.

It might be hard to believe but you don’t need “skill” to start. We find our style by playing around!

You’ll have my artist trained eyes, ears and curiosity to help you learn how to play with your ideas and refine them into images that scream “this is my message” (even if your style is whisper soft) and, make sure the design also works for you.

I’m great at explaining “why” - what’s working, what’s got potential, what’s a “keep for later in the scrap pile” - so you can build your art direction skills and grow your confidence.

2. Time consuming

Creating brand imagery yourself can be time-consuming and may take away from other important tasks.

It does take time to make graphics, this why I use the “capsule wardrobe” concept. In smaller chunks of time, you can create a few pieces and have a lot of versatility.

Just four design elements gives you 24 potential combinations!

As you build your “wardrobe” of images, it gets easier and you’re not starting from scratch every time. The free apps I’m going to recommend also let you save and reuse images easily too.

3. Limited creativity

You may not have access to all the tools or resources a professional would have, which could limit your creativity.

These days there are so many apps and programs and templates to choose from to make things easier - I’m going to recommend 2-3 that are free and we will play with them together in real time. I’ll show you how to let the programs help you get creative and take the heat off!

4. Ho-Hum stuff that looks like everything else.

All of the templates and stock images made to help make design easier can quickly turn into overwhelm. (Not to mention that after all the time you do spend creating posts, your images end up looking like you shopped at the same store in the mall as everyone else).

My method draws upon your personal well of material - your photos, shapes, ideas and symbols that have meaning to you so the images come out with your unique flavor. Even if we mix up some “store bought” pieces too.
